How long does a painting take?

Frequently Asked Questions regarding Live Event Painting

I like to get to the venue early to set up and if time start with some background work. Usually a painting takes around 5 hours - but this can be flexible.

I use trains and taxis from my home in Bristol. The venue has to be accessible for this and taken in to consideration regarding my leaving time/last trains. Alternatively if a later finish is required and the trains don’t run I can add on an overnight stay.

what are the requirements?

  • shelter if wet!

  • a minimum 1.5mt square to set up in

  • ideally a floor that can be wiped if a spillage- ( this hasn’t happened to me yet!) I can bring a floor cloth if not.

  • a table for paints if possible

  • Non refundable deposit to secure your date

  • payment completed 2 weeks in advance of the event

I offer 2 different styles of Event paintings

one me painting on my own- or one where I get guests to join in.

-on my own

- this is a more fine art/impressionist style- or I can do a more illustrative approach- line drawing.

-OR Guest involvement

- this style is usually with black line drawing which is then painted with acrylic washes. I gently encourage the guest to join in adding there mark along

You can see both styles on the event painter page.

Dress code

Generally i wear smart clothes to fit in- happy to wear a headscarf or anything to fit it with the celebration. I have a strong performance background so I can dress up as a character- a larger than life persona for an entertaining quality for example I can dress as a Georgian, or in a 50s paint splattered cocktail dress or simply smart..do ask me about this if this interests you.

Im sure I’ve missed some things off!… do get in touch with any other questions
